Overgrown Fence Line
If the wire has disappeared into greenbrier, send a photo from the corner post.

Why fences disappear here
Nobody mows the fence line. Mesquite seeds in under the wire where the shredder cannot reach, yaupon fills the shade, and greenbrier climbs both and takes the posts. Within a few years the fence is a green wall and the pins are somewhere in it. In Manor that happens on acreage that changed hands; in Elgin it happens on pasture where the cattle came off.
Why people call
A neighbor
Their cattle are in your pasture or yours are in theirs, and nobody can find the fence to fix it.
Livestock
You want to run cattle again and need to know what wire is left.
A survey
The surveyor needs the corners and cannot reach them.
What we cut
A corridor along the wire, wide enough to walk and drive, mulched, and stopped at the pins. Brush grown through the wire gets cut by hand so the fence is not pulled down. Bad posts and broken wire get flagged for the fence crew. Fence line and ROW clearing →
Elgin fence lines run through more yaupon and older cross fencing than Manor; the job is the same, the day is a little longer. Elgin, TX →
Overgrown fence line questions
Can you clear the fence line without wrecking the fence?
If the wire is worth saving, yes. Brush grown through the wire gets cut by hand, the mulcher works off the line, and we stop at the pins.
Posts that are already broken get flagged for the fence crew, not buried in the mulch.
How wide a strip do you clear?
Wide enough to walk and drive the line, usually a machine width each side where the tract allows it. If a fence crew is coming behind us, tell us and we cut to what they need.
Do you find the property pins?
We clear to where the pins should be and flag what we find, but we are not surveyors. If the corners matter for a sale or a dispute, a surveyor sets them; our corridor is what lets them reach the line.
What does fence line clearing cost?
Day rate, like the rest of our work. The bid depends on length, how thick the greenbrier and mesquite are, and access at the corners.
Send a photo down the line from a corner post and we will give you a range.
Text a photo down the fence
Stand at the corner post and shoot down the line. That is enough for a ballpark.

We'll look at the photos and call. If it's a tree only job (one backyard oak), we'll say so.
